PRODUCTION - Making the Title Screen
Today, we made our opening title screen for the film. We had already discussed some ideas that we all had individually for the title screen and so we all wanted to have some sort of input. We got all our ideas together and came to a pretty quick conclusion as we all had very similar ideas.
As we are following the similarities to the series "First Dates" we wanted to have a romantic, bright and colourful opening title screen that emphasised the initial vibe our film was promoting. We wanted it to be plain and simple as the ones used in First Dates and The Undateables are and they are also animated which we will strive to achieve also.

We discovered that on Final Cut Pro, it didn't have animated widgets that we were looking for to use in our title screen so we went looking online for some free downloadable versions. We came across a few different websites, however, one offered us more than the rest so we explored it more. It was called Stupid Raisins. This website offered us lots of animated packs that were free to download which was very helpful for us. We downloaded a pack called 'Sign Pop and Template Pop' which had lots of random widgets in it. There was one in particular that stood out for us as it was a little folder with a heart on it which was exactly what we were looking for. We made this a baby pink colour to represent the love/romance aspect.
We decided to add this to our title screen and had a white background on it which followed similarities to 'The Undateables' title screen. The white background also helped emphasise the pink colour of the heart. We changed the text to say "Last Dates" . made the font Al Bayan and the text size 72.0.
To make it look more professional and easier on the eye we added some effects. We added one called Bokeh Random which allowed the title screen to look as it if it was twinkling or shining. This effect was on the entire screen but because the background was white it was only noticeable on the title. This actually made it nicer because it was not as intense but just a subtle, pretty feel. The animation flies in and out of the title screen as the screen fades into black and transitions into the next scene as the music comes to an end.
